Indoor plants are a great way to add life and personality to your living space. Not only do they help purify the air, they can also reduce stress and improve your overall well-being. However, with so many options to choose from, it can be challenging to know which plants to bring into your home. Here are eight of my favourite indoor pot plants that can elevate your décor:
The Monstera plant, also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, is a trendy indoor plant with large, tropical leaves. Its unique foliage features perforations or holes that create a stunning visual effect. Monstera plants are easy to care for and can grow in a variety of lighting conditions.
Among all my plants, this one is my favourite. It evokes a sense of being in the midst of a jungle, which is truly amazing! I absolutely adore it!
02. Devil’s Ivy
Devil’s Ivy, also known as Pothos, is a trailing plant that is perfect for hanging baskets or climbing up trellises. It has variegated leaves with a mix of green and white, and can tolerate a wide range of lighting conditions.
At my home, I have three Devil’s Ivy plants. Among them, one is allowed to climb up the wall adjacent to my kitchen bench. To secure it in place, I use 3M Command Clear Cord Clips that can be purchased from Amazon.
03. Zanzibar Gem
The Zanzibar Gem, also known as the ZZ Plant, is a low-maintenance indoor plant with glossy, dark green leaves. It can grow in low to bright light and requires minimal watering, making it an excellent option for busy people or those new to plant care. The Zanzibar Gem is also a powerful air purifier and can help remove toxins from your home.
04. Peace Lily
The Peace Lily is a popular indoor plant with large, elegant white flowers. It can grow in low to bright light and requires moderate watering. The Peace Lily is also an excellent air purifier and can help remove harmful pollutants from your home, making it a great choice for people with allergies or respiratory issues.
05. Fiddle-Leaf Fig
Fiddle-Leaf Fig is a popular indoor plant known for its large, violin-shaped leaves that add elegance and charm to any living space. It can grow in bright, indirect light and requires regular watering.
At my home, I have two Fiddle-Leaf Fig plants. One of them has thrived and grown to an impressive height of about 1.7 meters, and it shows no signs of stopping!
06. Rubber Fig
The Rubber Fig, also known as the Ficus Elastica, is a tall indoor plant with shiny, dark green leaves. It can grow in low to bright light and requires moderate watering.
The Peperomia is a low-maintenance indoor plant with thick, succulent leaves. It can grow in low to bright light and requires minimal watering. The Peperomia is also an excellent air purifier and can add a touch of texture to your décor.
It is important to note that Peperomia plants are prone to scorching if exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Hence, it is recommended to avoid placing them in full, direct sunlight.
08. Parlour Palm
The Parlour Palm is a small indoor plant with feathery, green fronds. It can grow in low to bright light and requires regular watering. The Parlour Palm is also an excellent air purifier and can add a touch of tropical charm to your décor.
Overall, these eight indoor pot plants each have unique qualities and benefits that make them a great addition to any home.
