Hey there fellow travellers! I’m back with stories of my recent adventures. This one has taken me a good few months to put together, with life throwing curveballs my way left and right! Despite those obstacles stalling my writing (writer’s block!), it didn’t stop my travels! So here I am back, ready to use this as a way to journal my thoughts and share stories of my recent travel adventures with you.
Firstly, let’s rewind to the Christmas and New Year break (I know what you’re thinking… that was so long ago, but bear with me!) when I whisked myself away to the vibrant City of Melbourne for some much-needed family time and festive cheer. Being surrounded by loved ones was an absolute tonic for the soul, and the holiday vibes were positively contagious.
While my trip was primarily focused on family bonding, I still managed to squeeze in some exploration of Melbourne. New Year’s Eve was a standout moment, with glorious weather bathing the city in sunshine. Although we missed the fireworks show, we were treated to a breathtaking display as the eight towers along Southbank lit up the night sky with dazzling fireballs. It was a sight to behold, and I couldn’t help but be swept away by the magic of it all.

Tip: If you’re keen to catch the gas brigades fire spectacle, it happens every evening from 9 pm to midnight during the summer months. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast!
Of course, no trip to Melbourne is complete without indulging in some culinary delights. A visit to the iconic South Melbourne Market was a must, where I devoured a mouthwatering Lobster Roll that left me craving more.
I also made sure to sample the local dining scene, with stops at Jinda Thai in Richmond, and Ombra Salumi and Gradi in the city. While they may not have been the absolute best Italian joints in town, they certainly hit the spot and left me feeling satisfied.

Fast forward a month, and I found myself back in Melbourne, this time to celebrate the Lunar New Year. As luck would have it, Taylor Swift was in town for her first Australian Eras tour, sending the city into a frenzy of Swiftie fever! And no, I did not attend the concert, but the buzz was infectious nonetheless.
During my stay, I took the opportunity to revisit some of Melbourne’s iconic landmarks, including Federation Square and Flinders Street Station. Even though I’ve seen them before, they never fail to impress, and I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics.

Now that I’m back in Sydney, I’m already gearing up for my next grand adventure, which will see me visiting East Asia. Any guesses where I’m headed next?
Stay tuned for my next blog post! Until then… sweet travels!
